5/18 Movement Monday

This is going to be my last Monday post. The school year is almost over and next Monday is Memorial Day so there isn't "school" that day. As always on Mondays, it's time to get up and move!

And, here's another video of my family and friends singing "I Saw the Light." If you have an instrument nearby play along!

5/15 Fabulous Friday 2nd & 3rd Grade Lesson

It's finally Friday!
There's only 1 Friday of school left at St. Edward's and 2 at MPB. It's hard to believe that this school year is almost over.

Today you'll be singing, clapping and playing instruments to "Family Reunion." I used a couple different video formats to make this one video. I think it turned out pretty good! I hope you enjoy this fun song today!

5/14 Thoughtful Thursday

Hello to all my favorite music makers! As always, on Thursdays we pray. Today, I have a video of "More Precious Than Silver" as a piano solo. Remember to pray while you listen!

And now - something I've never seen before. This next video is a Disney Medley of songs played on plastic bottles. I had no idea that plastic bottles could sound so cool! I hope you enjoy this video!

5/13 Wonderful Wednesday 4th & 5th Grade Recorder Lesson

Happy Wednesday boys and girls! Take a listen to the US Navy Band performing an interesting arrangement of "When the Saints Go Marching In." "When the Saints Go Marching In" is the blue belt song in Recorder Karate. Since we're almost to the end of the school year, you will have to return your recorders - remember they belong to St. Eds (or MPB - depending which school you go to). The recorders must be returned by the last drop-off date or anytime before. Make sure your name is on the recorder.

Next, take a listen to a recorder quartet play "Let It Go."

5/12 Terrific Tuesday PreK-1st Grade Music Lesson

I have a new song for you today! Those of you from St. Eds probably remember Eddie and Frankie, right? This song is about our precious guinea pigs who have been living at Mrs. Cowart's house since the "Safer at Home" order. They look happy and healthy, but I'm sure they're missing all of us!

Here's a fun story to sing along with.

5/11 Movement Monday

Happy Monday!
Did you all do something nice for your mom yesterday?

Today I have 2 videos for you. The first is "God Is Watching." Get up and move! Some of you, especially choir members, might remember this one.

I found another musical family. This is the Clark family. During the Quarantine they have been learning a new song each day. They practice it several times during the day and then they record themselves and put the video on YouTube. I especially enjoy watching the little girl play the egg maraca and dance. I hope you enjoy this as much as I do!
